Putnam Associates was founded in 1975 and
has almost 40 years of architectural specifications writing experience. We are a woman-owned firm. Our
first spec was written in 1973. Our work encompasses buildings from tiny
25 square foot utility sheds to massive $150 million CCRCs and Zero
Carbon Foot Print LEED Gold buildings. Our documents are custom-tailored, up-to-date and reflect our clients’ needs and the environment in
which they will be used.
Mary W.F. Putnam, Wellesley College, B.A. ’65, handles the managerial, administrative and research elements of our practice. and
Joseph Henry “Po” Putnam, Harvard University M.Arch. ’70, AIA, CSI, LEED AP handles the technical and specification writing side of our work.
Our memberships include the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Specifications Institute, United States Green Building Council, Specification Consultants in Independent Practice, the American Society of Testing & Materials and the Association for Preservation Technology.
